GENERAL QUESTIONS
When are rehearsals & classes?
Our dancers participate in a 2 hour block of rehearsal and technique classes every Sunday between 2-8pm CST. In addition to their assigned rehearsal block, dancers are welcome and encouraged to attend as many technique classes as they would like. Rehearsals take place both in-person at our DFW location and online over ZOOM.
How do company members receive their choreography? Rhythmic Souls provides weekly breakdown videos of the choreography for our dancers to pre-learn to maximize their hour of rehearsal with us weekly. This allows flexibility & efficiency throughout the season.
What happens in the weekly rehearsal?
Dancers are expected to come to rehearsal knowing that week’s choreography to the best of their ability. During rehearsal, our instructors will give them feedback, corrections, and start working on performance.
What if we have to miss a rehearsal?
Dancers are expected to attend a minimum of 4 rehearsals throughout the show season. We understand you have additional commitments other than RSTC, and we celebrate that. We trust our dancers to be professional, and if they have to miss a rehearsal, we ask that they stay caught up with their video learning & review any corrections they may have missed.
Are Online Company rehearsals recorded or live?
Our Zoom rehearsals are live every Sunday.
How do I know what technique class my dancer takes?
We will send out your dancer’s assigned technique class time at the beginning of the show season.
Are the instructional videos able to be viewed at any time, or are they on a set schedule that the student needs to log into at a certain time/day?
The videos can be accessed & practiced any time throughout the week.
What if my dancer struggles to learn off of video?
We have weekly privates available to help if you dancer would like additional one-on-one help. And remember, the goal isn’t perfection—it’s PROGRESS. The videos act as an aid to accelerate your dancer’s learning & training with us.
What type of shoes are required?
The tap shoes your dancer has are great! We also allow colored/custom tap shoes if you have them. We are also happy to provide professional recommendations for shoes, and do sell GS1 Custom Tap Boots for an additional fee.
live SHOW WEEKEND QuestioNS
*Each season runs about 8 weeks in length ending in a full 2 - 3 day show weekend. Our show weekends consist of rehearsals, putting the show together, creative media projects, master classes, company bonding, and a live show!
What other costs am I responsible for?
You will provide your own transportation, lodging, & flight for your in-town stay. You will also need to purchase tickets to watch the show. These can range from $10-$30. We also have other OPTIONAL events your dancer can sign up for as well: photoshoot, video shoot, master classes, live solo showcase, and more! Dancers can choose to participate in these for an extra cost. These events are optional for both 5-Month & 2-Month contracts.
What do we do for costumes?
Costume guidelines are located at the top of your dancer’s choreography page. You can decide how much you want to spend. Dancers have the option to pull something right out of their closet for $0 or shop for something new! Just make sure it fits in with the guidelines provided.
Do you have a hotel block or recommendations?
We recommend you find the best hotel for your family since we have dancers coming in from all over the country! We do not provide a hotel block, but we do offer recommendations under the venue tab on your show dashboard.
When will the events be over so we know how soon we can fly out?
Typically, our Shows & Events end by 3:30/4:30pm on the last day of the Show Weekend.
How many Master Classes are offered per year?
Master Classes are added into many of our show weekends with RSTC Pro Co Members & Guest Artists.
How do I purchase Tickets to the Show? When will they be available for purchase?
Ticket sales open up about 3-4 weeks before the show. Tickets range from $20-$30, and can be purchased online.
Do the students get dropped off, or do the parents need to stay at the Show Weekend venue? We often offer some events for the parents while we are in rehearsals so the parents can have fun too! Our rehearsals are closed to parents so you can be surprised at the show! We have staff backstage & in the dressing rooms overseeing the students at all times.
Is food provided for my dancer? What’s the best way to get them their food?
We do not provide food during the event. We encourage parents to pack plenty of snacks, water, and whatever else your dancer needs for the day. They will have small breaks to grab a snack/water. Additionally, we have a scheduled lunch break during the weekend where you can take your dancer to get food or drop off food for them.
CONTRACTS & PAYMENT Questions
How do I apply a scholarship? The registration fee and tuition will be due when you sign up. The amount of your scholarship will be deducted from your initial payment when you apply the scholarship discount code that you were given. After that, you will need to pay only the remaining show fee.
Can I cancel my contract if needed?
Yes, cancellation is allowed with a 30 day notice. No refunds will be awarded.
What if I need to change my credit card info? Are there late fees?
We have a system that makes it easy to update your payment info.
If your card on file declines there is a $15 late fee.
Technique Class ONLY Questions
How do I know what technique class is right for me?
We recommend attending as many classes as you would like to find the best level fit for you!
Our classes start at an intermediate level. We recommend that you have at least 1-2 years tap experience and only allow ages 9 & up.
Can I attend technique in person?
Our in-person technique is included for our Youth Company Dancers in the DFW area.
What type of shoes are required?
The tap shoes your dancer has is great! We also allow colored/custom tap shoes if you have them. We are also happy to provide professional recommendations for shoes, and do sell GS1 Custom Tap Boots for an additional fee. For more information about our Custom Tap Boots, email office@rhythmicsoulstapcompany.com.
What’s the best setup for my ZOOM technique class?
Have a cleared space, your tap board (or wood floor), and a table where you can have your laptop & an additional device to clearly see class. Ideally, we’d love to be able to see your whole body on the camera to give you the best feedback.
